GOD’S GRACE HUMBLES ME

Job 38:1-11; 2nd Corinthians 6:1-2

Humans could be very funny. We like taking a lot of things for granted. One thing or one of those things we take for granted that scares me is our relationship with the Almighty God and His grace. We get too familiar with God sometimes that we do not see how privileged we are to be associated with Him because of His grace. I know sometimes it is because of certain unpleasant situation that we face in life, just like in the case of Job. We are led by these situations to question God and accuse Him of not being fair.

We take God’s grace for granted most of the time due to ignorance. In some parts of the world, people have more reference for their traditional gods than they do for the Almighty God. They do not speak evil of their deities for fear of being punished or killed. But when they come to God, they question His fairness, and can speak irrationally concerning Him. When we are ignorant of the natural order of the earth, we will also be ignorant of God‘s moral order and it will drive us into accusing God ignorantly.

In our Old Testament reading (Job 38:1-11) when God was questioning Job, I believe Job would have regretted all accusations he leveled against God. But God, because of His grace and mercy was trying to give Job an understanding of his privilege to be associated with the Almighty, and also to make him know that His character and thoughts are way beyond our comprehension.

Today, God is still offering us His grace. We should not receive it in vain. We should not place anything above God and then make up reasons to question Him. God coming to us should humble us. How can the creator and sustainer of the universe reach out to us and we reject Him; just think about it. If we have any issue with God, lets us settle it now by accepting His grace and following Him even when we don’t understand everything about Him. He is God. He knows what He is doing and it is all for our good.

I pray that we will always be humble before the Almighty God, and not accept His grace in vain. Amen. God bless you
