ALWAYS GO FOR THE BEST

John 14:2; 1^st Corinthians 2:9

We all deserve the best things that life can offer: houses, family, wealth, peace, joy, fulfillment etc. A lot of people have given parts of their body, killed, and committed all sorts of atrocities just to have these things; sometimes they seem to get them, and most times they fail. Now what happens when we get all these things that life can offer and then we die leaving them all behind? I don’t think that’s the best. The Bible says: “for what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Mark 4:36-37). Our soul is most important, we should not lose it.

Sometimes it seems as if people are no longer aware that there is life after death. The way we live these days, shows that our major concern is to get all what we need on earth, forgetting that there is life after death. Whatsoever we get that only last here on this earth, is not the best. The best is something that lasts the longest. Beloved, what God has in plan for us will last for eternity, and that is the best.

In John 14:2, Jesus wants us to understand that He has gone to prepare a place for us in heaven. This means that He wants the best for us. A place in heaven is the best thing we could ever wish for. Nothing on this earth can be compared to it. It is the best because it lasts for eternity.

There are two places destined for man to spend eternity; It is either in heaven or hell. Heaven is the best, so don’t settle for less. Don’t settle for hell, when you can make heaven and remain with God in the place that Jesus has gone to prepare for you.

Preparation for the best starts now; now that we are still alive on earth. We need to confess our sins and repent now. It will be too late when we die because the Bible in Hebrews 9:27 makes us to understand that it is appointed for man to die once, and after death judgement. There is no repentance once we are dead.

It is wonderful to know that God who loves us and wants the best for us is there to help. The Bible tells us in John 3:16-17 that: “for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

All you need to do now is to believe in Jesus Christ. To show that you believe in Him, you have to become committed to what He wants you to do. You will start hearing Him speak to you every day by reading His word. You will also talk to Him every day through prayer. It is not difficult because, Jesus Christ has given us the Holy Spirit to live inside of us, and help us.

Anytime you are faced with difficulties, you can talk to God and He will direct you through the Holy Spirit who lives In you. Sometimes things might be tough, and you might face challenges and temptations, but as long as you are God’s child, the Holy Spirit will lead you to overcome every temptation and challenge.

Beloved what are you waiting for? Don’t allow anything or anyone to stop you from getting the best. Don’t allow anything or situation to make you settle for less. Come to Jesus now and You will never regret it. He is calling you right now. You can say this prayer right now if you really want the best, and if you want Jesus to be your personal Lord and Saviour. SAY THIS PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I thank you for preparing the best for me. I know I am a sinner and I am not worthy to have the best. But I come before you. I confess all my sins that I have ever committed, and sincerely repent of them. I pray that in your mercy you will forgive me, and help me to live for you. You are my personal Lord and Saviour. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayers. For I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
