Proverbs 6:6-11; 2nd Thessalonians 3:6-11
This warning needs to be on every social media platform. It needs to get into the heads and hearts of everyone, especially youths, teenagers, and even children. There is no place for a lazy person in our world today. It is either you work hard or you work smart. There is always a good reward for work. But please don’t swindle and call it work. I mean, don’t participate in fraudulent activities and call it work.
A lot of people desire to be rich, yet they love sleep. They keep dreaming of a day when they will win a lottery, or stumble upon a stack of cash on the way. These set of people are always busy, meddling in other peoples business, when they are supposed to be working. Others have tried to replace hard work with prayer. But we all know that there is a time to pray, and a time to work.
For the young ones in school, and those in higher institutions, this is the time to work. Your work is to study: study hard. Make out time to rest, but never sleep and stay Idle when you are supposed to be working. Laziness is what has put a lot of people in poverty today. Cultivate the habit of working hard and smart. Plan your time and don’t give room for idleness. You don’t need to be ordered around. Just look at the ants and be wise.

For those that are done with school, there is always this complaint of lack of work. Yes we know that it’s not easy to get a job, but this should not create room for laziness. Work in the house, organize it, supervise the cleaning of the house and other chores: make sure they are properly done. Try your hands on other things while you wait for your dream job. Work with your hands, learn a trade or even create jobs.
Our God is a ‘working’ God. He does not encourage laziness in any way. So I pray that He will help us out of every laziness, and strengthen our hands for good works, in Jesus name. Amen. God bless you.
