GOD ALONE CAN SATISFY OUR DEEPEST LONGINGS

Psalm 63:1-8; Matthew 26:14-29

You might never understand what it means to thirst or long after something, until you find yourself in a desert; where there is no water, and the heat of the sun is drying up every moisture in your body. There are other things we long for in this world, and there have been times we long for a particular thing, in such a way that we felt if we do not get that thing, we might die or we might never be happy. The interesting part is that, we never got some of those things, yet we are still alive and happy.

Judas in Matthew 26, was so blind to see that the riches he longed for could only be found in the one he was willing to betray for money. And that has been the mistake an misgivings of man today. We long after a lot of things, yet we fail to spend time with the one who has everything. We refuse to open the door of our hearts for the one who has everything , and has been knocking, ready to come in and commune with us and share with us all that he has.

The Psalmist understood that, the only water that can quench his thirst forever, is the living water from God. The only food that can satisfy him, more than the richest feast, is the living bread from heaven. What is our deepest longings? No matter what it is, it can only be satisfied in God. So let us toe the same line with David, and never fail to thirst and long after God, especially in a world where there is a drought of true teachings.

We should always create time to commune with God every day, by studying his word and talking with him in prayer. We should always cherish our Communion Services and partake in it accordingly. With this we will discover that every earthly longings will be handled by God who has everything.

May God continue to satisfy our deepest longings in Jesus name. Amen. God bless you.
