Jeremiah 23:1-6; John 15:1-8
A lot of agricultural projects have been unproductive, because people who should have nothing to do with agriculture were placed to manage it. Some churches have become unfruitful, because those responsible to lead the church in God‘s path have led them astray. Some leaders have placed themselves as demigods. They have put Christ in the background and placed themselves as the one, without whom, the church cannot exist. Instead of caring for the sheep, they have scattered and destroyed them.

Thanks be to God, for there is still hope. God says in Jeremiah 23:3-4; “but I will gather together the remnants of my flock from the countries where I have driven them. I will bring them back to their own sheepfold, and they will be fruitful and increase in number. Then I will appoint responsible shepherds who will care for them, and they will never be afraid again. Not a single one will be lost or missing. I, the Lord, have spoken!“
Our fruitfulness will come from Christ alone, and not the schemes of men. Christ is the righteous branch and will bring fruitfulness to the church, and everyone of us as his children. God the Father will prune us, and we will bear much fruit. All we need to do is to remain; to abide in Christ. This means we should:
- Believe that He is the Son of God (1st John 4:15)
- Receive Him as Saviour and Lord (John 1:12)
- Do what He says (1st John 3:24)
- Continue to believe the Good News (1st John 2:24)
- Relate in love with the community of believers, God’s body (John 15:12).

May God help us to abide in Him, and May He gather us to Himself, so that we can bear fruits. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. God bless you.
