THE LIGHT WE NEED

Psalm 119:105-112; John 8:12-18

The amount of false values and Philosophies in the world today has made it difficult for God’s children to move around without stumbling. The evil going on in the world today has made it so dark that without the right lights, everyone will stumble and be destroyed.

We need the light that can shine on our path as we navigate the maze of life; the light that reveals every holes, bumps, tree roots, and stumps along our path; a light that makes us see the lies in human philosophies and false doctrines, so that we can move in the right direction without being misguided.

The light we need is Jesus! Jesus himself spoke in John 8:12: “…I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” There is no way we can make it through this maze of life without Jesus.

A maze

But since He is not here physically with us, He has given us his word which he honors more than his name. The psalmist in Psalm 119:105 says: “your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.”

It is wonderful to know that we have God‘s word today in every easily accessible format. We should not go a day without reading and meditating on his word. And we should also make out time to study the word of God.

Having the word of God does not take away the obstacles on our way but it shines the light on our path so that we do not stumble. And if we should ever stumble, the word picks us up, dusts us, and keeps us moving.

I pray that God’s word will never depart from us, and that we may never walk in darkness. In Jesus name. Amen. God bless you.
