Psalm 33:12-22; Acts 1:4-8
In a well organized school, students are sure of the subjects they are to take every day because they have a timetable. They know that they will not be blamed, if a teacher does not show up. God has a timetable for us, our nation, and the whole world. One thing about God‘s timetable is that we cannot see it; we just need to trust him, have faith in him, and wait patiently for the next “period.”

To some, it might sound frustrating, not knowing God‘s timetable. But for those who know God, they believe that his plan for them is the best, so they will improve their relationship with him, and allow him to handle the activities on his timetable. Sometimes we get impatient about situations in our lives, family, nation, and even the world. We desire some changes of which God has not responded to. Instead of us to become impatient and end up doing or saying things that we might later regret, we should be patient and trust God‘s timetable.
It is not easy to wait, especially when we have no idea of what might happen next. The only way we can successfully wait on God is to try and take our minds away from the trouble or circumstances, and put them on the one who has the timetable. Our troubles will trouble us, when we fix our attention on them. But our God will comfort us when we put our trust in him.

We should just consider the God we serve. Verse 12 of Psalm 33 gives this understanding: “what joy for the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people he has chosen as his inheritance.” This statement was made because, the previous verses paints a picture of how awesome God is, and what he is capable of doing. Psalm 33:6,7;10&11: “The Lord merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born. He assigned the sea its boundaries and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs.” “…the Lord frustrates the plans of the nations and thwarts all their schemes. But the Lord’s plans stand firm forever, his intentions can never be shaken.”
If we can only focus on God, our period of waiting will be transformed. We will not just spend time doing nothing, or just moping and throwing a pity party. Our waiting period will be a time of praising God, and hearing him speak to us through his Word while taking notes. It will be a time of getting to know him better which will in turn, increase our faith and renew our strength.

Waiting is sometimes a period in God’s time table, to enable us build our faith; so we will wait, believing that every promise he made, would be fulfilled. He promised us a Saviour, and gave Him. He promised the comforter and advocate, and He sent Him. He will keep every other promises concerning us. Amen. Remain forever blessed and highly favored.
