Ecclesiastes 9:7-12; Luke 12:42-48
Life is short and uncertain. As humans, God has given us responsibilities. We do not have to wait until we have acquired all we had dreamed of before we could carry out our responsibilities. Whatsoever our hands find to do, we should do it with all our heart. (Ecclesiastes 9:10). All will become useless when we die.

Often times, a lot of people cease from doing what God has called them to do because they think that they are not skilled or qualified enough to do it. A lot of people have missed out on great things because they failed to put in their best in the little responsibilities they were given to handle. Others have ruined their careers and reputation because they thought that no one was watching them, and so they misbehaved.
When we consider Ecclesiastes 9:11, we might be tempted to say that life is not fair. Nigerians will always say: “life no balance.” While there might be an evidence of truth in that statement, we should not allow it to stop us from being dedicated to every small or big responsibility God has given us. In all we do, we are not working for people we are working for God. We can never predict when Christ will come again or when we will die. So Let us put in the best we can in everything we do either at home, church, society, school, business, vocation, etc.

We should always remember: “…the fastest does not always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time.” (Ecclesiastes 9:11). This can be achieved by being in Christ, and doing whatsoever He wants us to do.
I pray that God will give us the grace to always put in our best in whatsoever we do, and may we never fail in our responsibilities, in Jesus name. Amen. God bless you.
