Just read the prayers with faith and conviction as you gather for family prayers, or during your private prayers. God that sees your heart will hear and will answer as we pray in Jesus name. Amen
1. Thank you Lord for our country Nigeria, for bringing us this far. Psalm 24 says: “what if the Lord had not been on our side? Let’s Israel repeat: (let Nigeria repeat): what if the Lord had not been on our side when people attacked us? (Terrorist, kidnappers, herds men, suicide bombers etc). They would’ve swallowed us alive in there burning anger…” Indeed our help is in you O Lord. Nigeria is still standing because of you and we will continue to stand because you remain on the throne as Lord over this land. Thank you for the past elections and thank you in advance for the forthcoming elections receive our thanks in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen
2. Father as we pray for the forthcoming elections, we ask that you will forgive us of all unconfessed sins we have committed during the last elections, and even in the process of the forthcoming one. We plead on behalf of every leader and citizen of this land that you will forgive us. We turn to you today in humility for your word says in 2nd Chronicles 7:14 that: “Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land”. Restore our land O Lord in this forthcoming election as you forgive us of all our sins, for we pray in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
3. Father we pray for those in authority and those in charge of the elections (INEC). Your word says in Proverbs 21:1 that: “the kings heart is like a stream of water directed by the Lord; he guides it wherever he pleases”. Father this means that the hearts of the rulers, those in INEC, those in campaign committees and even the observers are in your hand. We pray that you turn it in favor of your children. Turn their heart away from election malpractices. Turn their hearts to work for the good of this country we pray in Jesus name. Amen.
4. Father we pray for every Christian voter; that they will not be weak and frightened during the elections. Your word says in Daniel 11:32 “the people who know their God shall stand firm and take action”. So we pray that our action and exploit will not only end at the place of prayer. We ask that may every qualified Christian voter go out and cast their vote. And as we go out, we pray that no evil will befall us and no plague will come near us. Give your angels charge to protect us so that the evil one will not touch us and we will not strike our foot against a stone. We pray in Jesus name. Amen.
5. Father we pray for every other voter not minding where they are coming from, that you will guide and direct their hearts, that no matter their religious affiliation, they will do what is right with their votes. No man or forces shall intimidate them. They are also covered by your divine protection. Be with them in the north, south, east, and west of this country. In Jesus name Amen
6. Father, your word says in Isaiah 7:7 “but this is what the sovereign Lord says; ‘this invasion will never happen; it will never take place.’” So we declare that everyone trying to invade this country during the election will never succeed, and May they be incapacitated in the mighty name of Jesus Amen.
7. Father your word says in Job 5:12 “he frustrates the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot carry out their plans.” And so shall it be upon this Land as we declare that the plans and devices of the crafty will be frustrated no matter where they are from: the north, east, west and south, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen
8. Father we pray for peace in the land during and after the elections. We ask according to your word in Psalm 46:9 “he makes wars to cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bows and cuts the spare in two; he burns the chariot in the fire.” Lord cause wars to cease between and within political parties. Even after the elections; whatever the outcome of the results, we pray may every weapon of war fare prepared in advance be broken and burned by fire in Jesus name. Amen.
9. Father we pray for every candidates contesting for any position during this election. We ask that may the fear of you envelop them, may they have the interest of this country at heart; during and after the elections. And even if they lose, may they still have the interest of this country at heart, and cease from stirring up trouble. We ask that your peace that passes all human understanding will guard their hearts and will direct every one of them in Jesus mighty name. Amen
10. Father your word in Psalm 127:1b says: “unless the Lord protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good.” So we ask that you will secure our land and you will secure the lives and property of every citizen in this country. We come against every agent of the devil trying to plot evil and bring about insecurity in this country we destroy their plans, and put you to remain in charge of security in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen
11. Father your word says in Proverbs 29:2 that: “when the godly are in authority the people rejoice. But when the wicked are in power, they groan. We declare that no evil president, governor, senator, assembly member or any other person at any level will rule this country. May the outcome of this election never cause us to groan, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen
12. Father we declare that every plan to sit anyone in power that will not allow your children to worship you freely be destroyed. May their evil plans be turned to good in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen
13. Father we ask that you will pick for yourself a man after your own heart just like you picked David. Use us as vessels. Use every one in authority and place your choice on the throne. In Jesus name. Amen
14. Father bless this Land and everyone involved in this election. May lives be protected. May our children not be involved in anything that may cause them harm and also harm this country. May those that will be used from the NYSC, and universities be protected by you alone. May the security personnel and men of the armed forces be controlled by you; our Chief Security Officer. Keep us all under the shadow of your wings, in Jesus name we pray. Amen
15. Father we ask that you use this coming election to once again show forth your glory in this Land. Let everything contrary to your will be put to shame. Let even the weather and atmospheric conditions promote peace and tranquility during the elections.
Do all this and glorify yourself. For in Jesus name we pray. Amen
Thank you Lord for answered prayers and for always doing exceedingly, abundantly, far more than what we ask or think, for in Jesus name we pray. Amen
