2nd Chronicles 33:9-16; Luke 15:1-10
Have you ever read about Manasseh and what he did when he was king of Judah? It was so terrible that no one would have believed that he could have ever been forgiven. In the list of corrupt kings, Manasseh would have made the top five if not the top three. Briefly looking at the evil he committed can make someone sick; it will cause us to wonder how God could ever forgive him.
Manasseh did not just offend God intentionally by desecrating Solomons temple with idols, he also worshipped pagan gods and even sacrificed his children to them. He led the people of Judah and Jerusalem to do even more evil than the pagan nations that the Lord had destroyed when the people of Israel entered the land.
Beloved if God can forgive Manasseh when he cried out for forgiveness, surely He can forgive anyone. We can never understand the love God has for us. How can you imagine someone leaving 99 sheep to go and look for just one! Ha! it’s unthinkable!
My dear, are you burdened by overpowering guilt? Do you doubt that God can forgive you of what you had done? I want you to take heart. No one is beyond the reach of God‘s forgiveness except those that are dead.
So if you are still alive, God is reaching out to you, His hands are stretched out to pick you up and bring you back to the fold. You don’t have to do anything, a simple “I am sorry Lord please forgive me” will do. And there will be joy in heaven right now because you are saved. If God can forgive Manasseh, God can forgive us.
I pray that may we never run away from God because of our sins. In Jesus name Amen . God bless you
