WHEN GOD CALLS

Exodus 3:1-6; Acts 4:23-37

Every Christian has been called by Christ for specific purposes, both as an individual and as parts of a congregation. In the LCN, we have a working theme: CALLED BY CHRIST TO BEAR FRUIT. Looking at this, I believe it summarizes what every Christian has been called to do. So whenever you ask your Pastor if he has been called, also know that generally, we have all been called.

God called Moses from his daily job of keeping the flock of his father-in-law Jethro. God drew his attention and spoke to him. When Moses discovered that it was God speaking, he covered his face after taking off his sandals in respect and sincerity. God might draw, or is already drawing your attention through an unexpected occurrence at your place of work as a parent, civil servant, business owner, trader etc. we should not turn a blind eye towards it.

As Christians we should be ready to investigate and come before God in respect and sincerity whenever he calls us through an unexpected means. God is our friend and he has called us for a purpose, we should not approach him frivolously, for it shows a lack of respect and sincerity. When He calls us to worship, especially as a church, we should adjust our attitude because we are approaching not just our Heavenly Father, but a holy God.

When the believers in Acts 4:23-37 came together; having been called by God to do His will, they prayed together, took notice of their needs and worked together in meeting those leads, they prayed for one another and shared things in common. When God calls, this is what he expects from us; to pray for one another; work together in love, and see to it that we carry out what He assigns to us with all amount of respect and sincerity.

I pray that when God calls, none of us shall miss it and none shall be found wanting in Jesus name . Amen. God bless you
