Daniel 1:1-20; 2nd Corinthians 6:17-18

Have you ever been on a diet either to lose weight, gain weight or for any health reasons? Maybe not. But do you know that depending on your body composition, there are certain food that you eat and instead of making you healthy it makes you sick. For us to be healthy we need to be mindful of what we eat and for us to be better in what we do, we need to be mindful of anyone who leads us and the people or person we are close to.
The story of Daniel and his three friends always reminds us of who we are and how trusting in God and being dedicated in serving him can help us wherever we find ourselves. As Christians, for us to be healthier and ten times better in what we do, we need to watch what we eat and who we mingle with not withstanding where we find ourselves.

We should never allow any new or alien culture to influence us into going against the will of God. As we get into that new community, job, school, association etc., we should learn about the culture. We should do our work with excellence, serve the people well, pray to God for help, and maintain our integrity. That was the strategy Daniel and his friends used which was all about living for God.
We can be in a strange culture and still be separate by not engaging in things that God does not like and also by staying close to God in prayers, study of his word and meditating on it. Our time and money should be spent wisely for God and he will make us healthier and 10 times better both spiritually and physically.

If we might have defiled ourselves in anyway, the blood of Jesus Christ is able to wash us and set us free from every defilement, making us new and giving us the chance to be healthier and ten times better. Amen. God bless you.
